Joey Pullin' a Tooth

One day, a little boy named Joey decided he was gonna pull this annoying loose tooth right out of his head. Determined, Joey found some floss and a door knob. He thought of all the AFV (America's funniest videos) that he has seen about pulling teeth out. He decided that tooth+doorknob=success! Well, maybe. After being a chicken for a few minutes, he was practicing (slowly) how he was going to position himself and slam the door. In one of his practices, his tiny tooth popped right out. Yes, he was disappointed... but I think relieved as well. And that's the story about how Joey lost his tooth. The end.

Family History Work

Well for all you faithful blog readers, here's a post on my family history research. I really should be doing my Geometry homework, but this can be our secret. Since moving to my grandparent's house, I have found some really cool things. Their house is a gold mine of memories! One day I found a drawer full of my mom's and grandma's jewelry from their high school days!! I also am in the middle of reading a 1900 journal of my ancestor Grant Baird. His journals cover 1900-1935. I'm going to translate them to digital in case something happens to all the pocket sized journals. Maybe one day I can put a couple of entries from his journal and pictures of it! It's so COOL!

But what really got me excited was tubs and drawers full of old family pictures and newspaper articles. It is amazing to search through the pictures and connect names with faces! I have started scanning the pictures into my grandma's computer and editing them in Photoshop. I take out the rips and fix smudges. Below are a few pictures that I have scanned and edited. I have been mostly researching families on my great grandpa Haworth's side. His family is so interesting! I found we are related to Emily Dickinson, the poet, through the Gallup family which is my grandma's 10th great grandfather!

Everyone should have the opportunity to research and share stories about their ancestors. I love it! It's so addicting! Enjoy the awesome pictures. More to follow soon!

It seems like forever; it HAS been forever. Excuse me for the terrible lack in updating. I have so much to post including birthdays, camping, Christmas, BABY GOATS, and lots of other random pictures of the kids.

I just started softball at the high school. I am on the Junior Varsity team. Also, I am REALLY into family history!!!!

Robby is playing Rugby and baseball. He's stinky all the time.

Joey and Brian are having a great time doing gymnastics. Man are they STRONG!

Frank is also playing baseball and driving everyone to crazy town. He's cracked some really funny wise jokes lately which I will post soon.

Audrey is winning all kinds of things in dog agility with Chainsaw. Her goats will be having babies soon!

I hope to post all these pictures once we get settled into my grandparents house. Have I ever mentioned that moving is a nightmare?! I am SOOOOOOO grateful for my Grandpa and Grandma Needham. Most post hopefully to follow in the next month or so. HOPEFULLY sooner than later.

Family Trip to the Sierras

The Greenwood family took a memorable trip to Sierra Nevadas. We camped in Big Meadows I think by Rock Creek. We fished all day long. The first day we arrived we caught seven fish, cleaned them, and ate them the same day. The meat was so pink and perfect! After the trip, the total fish count came out to be:
Daddy- seven
Mommy- six
Malary- three
Robby- one
Audrey- one
Joey- seven
Frank- one
Brian- three
Grandpa- three
Oh and my grandpa and I are each others good luck charms. If we didn't fish together we wouldn't have any luck. When we did fish together, he caught two HUGE ones all in a row in the same spot and I caught one huge one with him.

We are going to have a yummy fish fry with the fish we caught and didn't eat up there. Enjoy the pictures!

Hip Hip Hooray! All clean and smooth purley whites! While the orthodontist was removing my braces, all the kids (and my mom) came over to watch. Frank told me I looked weird. At the ortho office when they finished with my teeth, they played the song 'Celebrate' and had me ring a bell to call everyone over. They took pictures and stuff. I got a goodie bag with everything on the famous "No-No List." Haha Oh and the first thing I ate was a Raspberry Chocolate swirl with brownies from the Yogurt Palace. I am really happy with my teeth and with Dr. Flores and his team Josie, Lisa, Tina, Earleen, April, Cindy, and Lin. Thanks everyone!

Baby goats have now arrived! Two healthy and spunky big boys. Joey's goat, Grace, had one boy on March 31st and Audrey's goat surprised us this morning with one boy. Both are active for just being born. Cutest babies so far. Money and Janel are both looking hugely pregnant. Money is due anytime. Enjoy the pictures! Both boys are up for grabs!

My 15th birthday was great! I made this delicious jello cake with white cake and black cherry jello. The frosting is cool whip with pudding. Yum! Audrey got me some awesome softball socks. I got cute cards, candy, face wash, and I saw the new Alice in Wonderland. 3D Imax!!!!! I had the best birthday. My cousin Alexis has the same birthday as me. Her special day was great too. My mom brought cupcakes into my seminary class by surprise. She got them from Sweet Sicilian Bakery in town. They were amazing and tasted heavenly! So pretty I didn't want to eat it. My friend got me flowers and I had a great birthday.

The recent rain storm filled our seasonal pond about 8+ feet deep! Deeper that our swimming pool. The kids begged and begged Mommy to let them swim and take our little blow up boats in it. Finally, almost a week later she said yes. The weather was about as hot as summer and the pond was evaporating. They had a blast! Enjoy their silliness!

On Thursday, our family, Grandpa and Grandma all went to Disneyland. Joey had a Gymnastics competition a few weeks earlier at California Adventures so Debbie (gym teacher) gave us five extra park hopper tickets for Disneyland. We had an amazing time and it wasn't crowded at all! Enjoy the pictures...

Nature Hike In De Luz

The rains have washed the earth clean again. Animals start to creep out of their hiding place. I went walking around my house and saw so much wild life. These picture were taken with my little D40: 55-200 lens. Not the greatest or up to date, but it works fantastic for a beginner like me. On this one little trip today, I took over 600 pictures.

Things to notice:
Water around goose- so cool!
Lizards tongue- blurry but amazing
Woodpecker- Look how blue the eyes are! I looked up this woodpecker breed and the eyes aren't supposed to be blue! Crazy!

The beauty out here in De Luz is just jaw-dropping. Sitting still, watching and listening was so relaxing. Enjoy the pictures.

How to Make Woofums

A few nights ago, our family dessert was woofums.

What?

You don't know what a woofum is? You must have been hiding under a rock! Since a good majority of people never have heard of woofums, below are steps about how to make and eat woofums. It's a must try. Enjoy!

Step1: Take biscut dough, roll it out, and

shape it on the special woofum stick

Step 2: Cook dough over fire turning slowly till desire texture- Raw, Golden, or Charcoal Black

Tip: Try not to let the dough hit the ashes or roast completely in the fire

Step 3: Fill with choice of pie filling-cherry, apple, pudding, etc...

Step 4: Top with lots of whipped cream

AND MORE WHIPPED CREAM

BSA Adventure Base 100

Last weekend, our family went down to San Diego for a special ceremony at the Adventure Base 100. My dad is apart of Woodbadge staff which is a level of training for scouts. My dad helped another to complete his part of training. The ceremony is called "beading." They had some cool scout activities including a C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) course, video, collectors penny, and a booth for funny green screen picture. Enjoy the pictures that I took at our scout-tastic adventure!

Christmas was fantastic. New Years Eve was crazy fun. New Years day was tiring. Now school has to start again. On New Year’s Day, we went to our church’s Avocado Bowl. The men (young and old) play football. It’s not a highly interesting game. But sadly, I didn’t take any pictures. After the football game, and after I played some baseball with my dad and siblings, we went shooting. I had some friends that really wanted to shoot. So, we shot multiple guns at clay pigeons and stumps. My friend Cheyenne and I shot a clay pigeon. Luck …. Um I mean skill mostly.

Hope Your New Year was refreshing and off to a good start. Wish us luck to get back on schedule for seminary, school, softball and all that other good stuff. And I wish you the best!

We got our picture with Santa today. 1 and 1/2 hour wait! UGH! I did not want to go and take my picture with Santa. But my mom wants us to look back one day and laugh because we hated it. It felt stupid being around crying babies. But then a few other kids in front of us, I notice, were my age with brothers and sisters. So I concluded, as long as I live in a house with my siblings, I am going to have to get my picture taken with Santa.

Slightly More Normal Christmas Card

Hello again family, friends, and visitors,
Christmas Eve is tomorrow and SO much needs to be done. We've been cleaning outside a lot lately and 40 acres is a lot to cover. I've been cleaning down at the animals all morning so now I am taking a break before I go down again. I even let all the goats out while I cleaned!

Anyways, this picture is our Christmas card photo. My grandma made my sister's dress (red) and I (with lots of help) sewed my dress(black)! I wish I took pictures while I was making it. My grandma has always done the girls' Christmas and Easter dresses. Now, I'm going to start sewing my own. The pattern was my grandma's from high school. She kept a bunch of patterns.

I'll probably put more pictures from our Christmas Eve tomorrow night. Until then!

Christmas Break Boredom

As you can see from the numerous posts within two days, I am extremely bored. I was seriously considering doing some school work. I've read every one's blogs and clean my room top to bottom. Christmas is coming fast. I told a few other people this; It seems like yesterday that I hung up a paper chain link of 25. Now only three are left hanging! WOW! Plus this is my break from packaging, peeling, and addressing late Christmas cards with my mom. A few more thing to do as Christmas stares me in the face.

My mom never buys the sugar loaded,

high fructose corn syrup cereal.

When she occasionally does, its gone in

less than a day. Frank and Brian loved

their breakfast this morning.

Decorating the Christmas tree. You can tell that we are truly Mormon because we waited three days before Christmas to decorate the tree. It was fun and Audrey had her friend over. Enjoy the pictures!

This is my dad's new ornament. He was driving home from work and he passed this boot in the road. He turned around and grabbed the boot that was in a box. He said he looked everywhere for the other boot but couldn't find it. He made up all kinds of stories about who it could've belonged to and what not. So, every time we drive to and from town, we look for the left, size seven, brand new boot.

A few weekends ago, our family went to Knott's for our grandparent's anniversary. Firemen and their families gets discounts so the deal was pretty good. Everyone had a blast! It's been a while, a long while, since our whole family has gone to a theme park. Knott's has got be be our favorite. I tried to load a video, but it didn't work. Sorry. It was good to see Paige, Matt, and Kennedy.

Hello Family and Friends.

I recently entered in an oral essay competition put on by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). The competition goes all the way to national but for the local contest I got 2nd place!! $300 and a really cool medal. The topic for the High School genre was "Does America Still Have Heroes?" I wrote, erased, wrote, and recorded. Four from my school, Oasis, entered and about 13 entered from Fallbrook High. It was a lot of fun! My favorite thing is that my Morfar got to come. After the Fallbrook Veteran's Day Parade, we all went fishing during the closed season of this camp. My dad didn't make reservations (as usual) or real plans (as usual) and asked the owner if we could fish. Eventually, he said yes! Since the camp wasn't open, no one was there! It was great.

The HUGE fish that teased Robby a few times but he never caught it. Grandpa Richard told me once,
"You never can catch a fish that you can see."

School has been CRAZY these past few weeks. Along with sports, 4-H, animals, seminary etc...

A few minutes ago, Audrey came bustling into the house. "MOMMY MOMMY! THERE ARE BABY GUINEAS!!!!!!!" So after Audrey's explanation of "rocks moving and peeping," Audrey and I go down to round up the chicks. Audrey said there were HUNDREDS! Of course, I get down there count at least 10. We gather them up and found out there are 15!!! I didn't see any more, but that doesn't mean there aren't more. By the way, guinea fowl originated in Africa. The look like prehistoric or "dinosaur" birds are what the kids call 'em. As I sit here typing, I am listening to the annoying sound of guinea peeps. Enjoy the pictures.

HIP HIP HOORAY! WE'RE HOME! HOME SWEET HOME! There is no place like home. For a little over two weeks my sister and brother and I were showing at the Del Mar fair. It was really fun. I learned so much and we did so well. We as in Audrey and Malary and Robert and Fallbrook 4-H and FFA.

Malary's 8th Graduation

Well, I am done with my elementary education!!!! Well in a way; I still have 5 younger siblings to teach...

The Iowa Street School promotion ceremony was great. All the speeches were amazing and filled with voice. The pictures got annoying after a while but it was worth it.

I am going to Oasis High School. It's an independent study high school. I will also be taking online Palomar and BYU classes too. I can wait for school to start and I am excited that summer stared! I will be at the Del Mar for for two weeks, camping, and showing my animals with the family. Come down and see us June 21-July 6. It is always a great surprise to see people you know watching you clean your animal's pens in your really dirty, smelly, work overalls. The best part is you give them a hug in all that mess too. So please come down and visit so I can give you a smelly hug!! I hope to be able to blog during that time but I don't know. Thanks for checking back here at Greenwood Hoof Hearted Ranch. About one week ago my dairy goat, Janel, had babies. Four babies to be exact! FOUR BABIES! WOW! I don't know where she put them! The little babies are just so darn cute! My mom had to pull three of the four out. Can you imagine having your hand up a goat (with a glove) and feeling around for one of the three tangled babies, maybe two of the 12 legs, and one head match to the legs! Ha-ha! Wow! Crazy isn't!

Anyways, here are some pictures, names, and more of the story.

Oo-Da-Lally- third born- doe(girl) The biggest one too!

This is my Pretzel. Pretzel was second born. She was a breech. She came out (with a little help) upside down and twisted like a pretzel. Her registered name will probably be Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel though.

Happy Spring! Ha-ha! Finally we had a warm day. My Aunt Paige got this cookbook called Deceptively Delicious. My Grandma got one for her and my family too. There are so many awesome things I can't wait to make in there. Today I made these frozen yogurt pops that were in there. 2 cups plain yogurt (I used vanilla though) 2 cup fruit ( I used black berries and peaches) and 1/2 confectioners sugar. Pour into the ice cube trace and wait. Oh boy, was is delicious. The kids love it. By the way Paige, Yogurt Express is my new favorite! Ha-ha!

April 16th I went to an AWESOME photography class at the San Diego Zoo. Bu the catch is... it was nighttime photography! My grandma took me and we had SO much fun. The class was mostly professional, old, retired men so it was pretty interesting... in a good way...

We went around the zoo after closing hours and took a bunch of pictures. At the end, you pick your two favorite ones to show up on a big projector screen (anonymously) so the teacher, Ron Garrison, could critique it and complement. At first I thought I had no good pictures but Grandma made me turn in some pictures which I am glad we both did! He really actually like ours! When mine popped up on the screen I heard ooooo's and ahhhhh's. He loved the colors and told me to crop it more. Just then, Grandma called out to the WHOLE dang class, "THAT'S MY 14 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER'S PHOTO!!!" Ugh... I elbowed her and told her to shhhh! Ha-ha! People, of course, turned around and said, "You took that picture?" Haha! It was great. The teacher was funny and a lot of good advice/tips. I took lots of notes. That class was defiantly an eye opener for me. Now, I don't see nighttime the same way any more....

Here are some pictures that I took there.

This is one picture I showed to the class. I squeezed through some bushes and saw this bird and it looked cool next to the bridge. My flash was on (stupid) and it lit up the pond. When the picture came up on the slideshow at the end of class this is kinda how the conversation went.

Teacher: "Wow, interesting" After a few moments.. "Did you know that there were fish in that pond?"

Me: "No.."

Everyone laughed.

The straight and narrow path... I will take that pipe out later...

I didn't know I had this flamingo reflection picture till I got home. I think it looks better when I flip it right side up though.... oh well...

Cute.... Oh, this one guy got this picture of a kola's face. It was so close, the lighting was perfect and the eye was amazing. Everyone was awed over it. The teacher was going on about how good it was. I could be believe that is was taken in the nighttime condition! Then the guy that took the picture said, "Oh. Well, it's that kola over there..." Ha-ha-ha! It was the stuffed animals kola in the room we were sitting in!!!!!

He also taught us how to fix that glarey eye...

Hello!!! Sorry I haven't updated recently. I have been working on my new blog http://onthefarmcards.blogspot.com/

I have been taking pictures and they turn out so beautiful in cards. I love photography! Thank you Grandma Patsy for my upcoming photography classes! One is at the San Diego Zoo for a night time session. The other is from Palomar college. You get to go to a skate park, special garden, a lake thingy to take pictures and they teach you about wildlife photography.

Another thing I am excited about is my poem book!! I write poems (mostly spiritual) and I am making it into a book with this awesome cover I am making in photoshop. It is my YW in Excellence project.

Half of our family went to a BBQ at my Grandma and Grandpa Needham's. The other half was sick. We had delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, Aunt Paige's WONDERFUL muffins, etc.. Ha-ha! I am not joking Paige! They were absolutely YUMMY!

There is this cool Vista Stake Young Women's blog ( http://viststakeyw.blogspot.com/ ) that has great info and messages and pictures in it. I like visiting it!

Audrey and I got two Silkies about two days ago from Kira Ezis. Kira is an awesome person. Kira gave us these chickens, called Silkies, as our Christmas Present. We love them so much. Audrey's is the white one. She named her Q-Tip. The buff/redish one Clucky Sue. She is mine. Audrey and I let them out to eat weeds and we hold them all the time. Long time no updates! Sorry. Well here are some fun ones. Our small garden is fantastic! We weeded, harvested, and all that today. Here are some pictures so you get the idea. We have sweet peas, Audrey and her broccoli, our garden areas, Joey was picking turnips in his garden (not pictured), my growing flowers, ect... I picked beets, swiss chard, and sweet peas from my garden today. For dinner my mom made delicious soup with veggies from our garden. Enjoy the picture! Yummmmmm!

Surprise, Surprise!!!

Whaddaya know! Junie had her babies this morning! Last night, Junie's udder looked a bigger so we thought she was getting closer. My mom, Audrey and I went down to feed this morning. My mom was ahead of me and saw the babies first. "MALARYJUNIEHADHEREBABIES!" she yelled really fast. "NOWAY!" I called back even faster! I ran the rest of the way down the hill. Sure enough, there were two babies next to Junie. She must have had them early this morning. The babies were all dried off, walking around, and went potty a couple of times. They nursed fine too. Junie is such a wonderful mother! She had two does (girls). The does are so sweet and cuddly! Just like Junie!!

We are goat sitting a very sick, sick, triple sick, goat. My mom, audrey, and I are taking care of her for a friend. Her name is Whistling Dixie. She is supposed to have her babies really soon. From now and less than 48 hours. Dixie got induced this morning, so any time now Dixie!! The sad part is (well at least one of the sad parts is) that we aren't sure if the babies are still alive. If you want the whole story let me know. It's pretty long and hard to explain over the computer. We are just waiting for a miricale.

On December 6, the whole gang went down to San Diego for a family holiday party at our Aunt Paige's In-laws; Cathy and Larry. It was so fun! The food was delicious, we played and had so much fun, and got to visit with everyone! Thank you Cathy and Larry!! Here are some fun pictures. The dogs (ours, Paige/Matts, and Cathy/Larry's) had a great time too! Gingerbread Houses

And here are the results!! Last night we broke into three teams of two and decorated gingerbread houses. Malary and Robby VS Audrey and Joey VS Frank and Brian.... You can imagine the differences...

Audrey and Joey's Frank and Brian~ They worked the hardest on theirs. Mostly eating the candy, but their roof cracked down the middle. We all know how hard it is to get the roof to stay on the walls, but theirs was cracked too!! Good job Frankie and Brian! Brush your teeth good! (That candy is so disgusting though! The gingerbread is like cardboard too! haha)

The Ultimate Birdy Nest I

This is the first huge birdy nest ever!!!!! 8 huge blankets and who knows how many pillow??! Ha-ha! It was so much fun. Frank thought it was great to jump into and hit all the squishy pillows and blankets. Joey didn't want his picture taken, but I got it anyways! Ha-ha! Enjoy your week!

Chainsaw is so dang cute! My dad gave him a rabbit skina nd he loves it! Here are some pictures of him chewing it, that chewy louie!

This one is my favorite. He came running over super fast toward the camera. I turned so he wouldn't eat the camera. He ate me instead, I sacrificed myself for you to look at these pictures! Ha-ha-ha! Happy Holidays!

Hello family, friends, and visiters! Today's hilarious story starrs Frank, Brian, and Chainsaw (our Jack Russel.) To cut to the chase, Frank wanted to baptise Chainsaw with the assistance of Brian. Yes, I know.... So Chainsaw comes into the house soaking wet fron head to tail. Frank's head is dripping too. Mommy talked to Frank about that.... Anyways, here are some cute pictures.

So since Frank's head was wet, the other boys thought that looked like fun. They gave each other "sink swirlies" and spiked their hair. Ha-ha-ha! Come back soon for more of the Greenwood Family moments.... At least Frank did that for a good cause, ;-)

Goatie Goats!

Hip Hip Hooray! We ultra sounded two of our goats! I wish I had pictures! Mine, Junie, is two and a half months along. So far there are two "babies" that we could see! Audrey's goat Pixie, is pregnant too but she wasn't far enough along to actually SEE. Audrey other goat Penny is probably pregnant. I am getting two more Nubians (with the big floppy ears) the first part of December and their are both going to have babies. I am so excited! Five goats will hopefully be having babies! Have a great weekend! Almost Thanksgiving too!!
